How Much Free Will Do You Really Have in Life?
There is an overwhelming amount of self-help books on the market; hundreds of success seminars exist and still, every year, our society continues to experience more and more problems. This is certainly the case when you look at recent statistics on divorce, health and money related issues, the last one topping the list.If you have free will why would you decide to lose your job, undergo a bankruptcy, have an accident or create any other negative circumstances? There must be something here that is missing . . .Some people claim that they control everything in their lives by free will. There are others that believe that free will does not exist, as everything is
predetermined by God or some form of higher power. What Do You Believe? If you observe how people govern — or fail to govern — their lives, it turns out that we all register on various points along the scale, starting with free will and self-determination on one end and ranging to no free will and ruled by God or some other higher power on the other end.Everybody claims to know his or her own place on the free will continuum. This is really interesting as it demonstrates somehow that either most of us simply don't know how much free will we exercise, or that there is simply no basic rule applicable.Exercising free will means that your decision is not based on any circumstances or influences from the past or future. Nor is your free will based on moral issues — and absolutely not on personal preferences. When you closely examine your decisions you will soon see that they are indeed based mostly on existing facts and personal preferences. So how much free will do you really exercise? What if you follow your intuition or go with your gut feeling? Are these based on free will? Where does intuition come from? Where does your gut feeling come from? You can see that the limits of free blur rather quickly when compared to most non-rational processes.Your level of free will is determined by the state of your consciousness. When you base a decision on intuition, you are really exercising free will because you are giving a certain higher level or your consciousness the power to rule. Intuition is free from any indoctrination brought about by pat forms of beliefs and concepts. That's why success in life has a lot to do with your spiritual path. True success is far beyond what most of society focuses on. Don't let yourself be pushed into a box by shortsighted claims that money and beauty are all there are to success. Success in your life is not dependent on how much money you have, where you live or if you are in a relationship.Success is not feeling happy; it is feeling happy about who you are. Creating Goals Beyond YourselfMost people start out creating their goals on a physical level — that's fine, we all do. However, to get further into the power of manifesting you want to learn what is beyond what you call 'That's Me'.‘That's Me’ is just an assortment of beliefs and experiences that you have collected over time. Compared to who you truly are, it is merely the tip of the iceberg. To expand your level of control you need to step aside of your usual cause-and-effect thinking. Pay more attention to coincidences. Allow yourself to make spontaneous decisions. Connect and listen to your heart and follow its guidance when it comes to life decisions. Simplify how you live and reduce stress as much as possible. Stress is the biggest challenge in allowing your being to reach a higher potential of awareness. Manifesting with Higher PurposeWhen setting up your intentions and dreams, try to get to the point of what you really want, and not what you think you need. Think about what would be the highest purpose you could fulfill in your lifetime. Imagine — beyond anything that you may think is possible! When you start doing this, magic happens in your life!

Count Your Blessings
A Blessing of Grace
Today, may you go in the grace and peace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the grace he has given you be the grace that you share with others.
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing.”
—Galatians 2:20-21, NIV

Question: "What are the four spiritual laws?"
Answer: The Four Spiritual Laws are a way of sharing the good news of the salvation that is available through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a simple way of organizing the important information in the Gospel into four points.
The first of the Four Spiritual Laws is, "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life." John 3:16 tells us, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 10:10 gives us the reason that Jesus came, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." What is blocking us from God's love? What is preventing us from having an abundant life?
The second of the Four Spiritual Laws is, "Humanity is tainted by sin and is therefore separated from God. As a result, we cannot know God's wonderful plan for our lives." Romans 3:23 affirms this information, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 gives us the consequences of sin, "the wages of sin is death." God created us to have fellowship with Him. However, humanity brought sin into the world, and is therefore separated from God. We have ruined the relationship with Him that God intended us to have. What is the solution?
The third of the Four Spiritual Laws is, "Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Jesus Christ, we can have our sins forgiven and restore a right relationship with God." Romans 5:8 tells us, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 informs us of what we need to know and believe in order to be saved, "...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..." Jesus Himself declares that He is the only way of salvation in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." How can I receive this wonderful gift of salvation?
The Fourth of the Four Spiritual Laws is, "We must place our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior in order to receive the gift of salvation and know God's wonderful plan for our lives." John 1:12 describes this for us, "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." Acts 16:31 says it very clearly, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved!" We can be saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).
If you want to trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, say the following words to God. Saying these words will not save you, but trusting in Christ will! This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation. "God, I know that I have sinned against you and deserve punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Amen!"

Something to check out!!
Daily Rules from God for 2009
1. Wake Up!! Decide to have a good day. 'Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. 'Psalms 118:24
2. Dress Up!!The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. 'The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart.' I Samuel 16:7
3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. 'He who guards his lips guards his soul.' Proverbs 13:3
4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything... 'Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good...'Galatians 6:9-10
5. Look Up!!.... To the Lord. 'I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. 'Philippians 4:13
6. Reach Up!!... For something higher. 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.' Proverbs 3:5-6
7. Lift Up!!... Your Prayers. 'Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.'Phillippians 4:6
Remember: God answers Knee-Mail.

They need your help! They need your support! They need your Love!
The Kenya Family Foundation
Our hearts were touched as we learned of a family from Kenya that needed our help and support. As of today only part of the family has been able to come to the USA. They have seven children. One was born here in the USA two years ago. Their other 6 children ranging from the ages of 12-23 are still in Kenya, four are awaiting for their parents to receive their green cards as this will allow them to be able to join them in the USA. However, the oldest two of the seven are not as fortunate. They must be enrolled
in school in order for them to be able to come over to the USA. To
be enrolled in school they will need $2000.00 per child. The school in Kenya is willing to allow us to send $1000.00 per child to start school. That’s $2000.00 we need immediately. If the children are not in school by the time the green card is received they will not be able to come to the USA with the rest of the family. They will be left behind. This is a cry out to every church, every business, every individual to help in our efforts to make sure that all the children will be able to come to the USA to reunite with their parents. Please help us by coming out to Gates of Heaven C.O.G.I.C at 112 Beech Street Suffolk, VA 23434 on August 17 &18 2009 at 6:00 pm to bring your love offerings. We are asking each and every family to donate $100.00 to help these servants of God and their family. They will be present so that you can meet them ,& pray with them. This is a great assignment! Let us unite for this one cause and save a family. Will you join us? We can not do it alone, but with your help we can do all things through Christ! If you are unable to attend either night, we ask that you mail your gift to: Gates Of Heaven P.O. Box 3436 Suffolk, Virginia 23439. Please make all checks or money orders payable to Gates Of Heaven.

Please contact: Missionary Diana Joe at (757) 613-1822 or Pastor Silver at (757) 539-6373 for further information. Thank you in advance
Prayer: Jump Start Your Prayer Life

Set aside a time and place for daily prayer. This is the single most important thing you can do. When we establish a regular routine for prayer, we will make sure that our prayer life is not just 'on the run', or when our backs are up against the wall, or when our buildings are being brought down by terrorists.
Begin your prayer times by slowing down and quieting down. When we come to prayer agitated and stressed, it is especially difficult to hear God's voice and to sense God's presence. Spending a quiet minute or two focusing and breathing deeply can help quiet our minds and spirits and make two-way prayer more probable. Allow for some silence in your life. This silence doesn't have to be long. It can be as short as 30 or 60 seconds to begin with and then gradually extend it to longer times as you get more comfortable with silence and waiting and listening for God.
Have a prayer conversation with God. Simply begin a conversation with God, like you might with a good friend. It could go something like this:
Good Morning, Lord. It's Glen.
This is my situation.
This is how I am feeling.
This is how I need your help.
What should I do?
Silence.
I am concerned about these people....
Because....What should I do?Silence.
Lord, guide me in...
Thanks, Lord for listening.
I am counting on you.
Pray the Bible. Take a few moments to read something from the Bible and direct attention toward God. Use a Bible passage you are already familiar with to help you get started praying. Focus on the contents of the Scripture passage and allow it to steer your time spent in prayer. Slowly read a single verse or short passage two or three times. Pause for some silence in between each reading to allow God's word to sink deeply into your heart and mind. Record some of your favorite Bible verses in a notebook and pray with one or more of them when the need arises. All of Scripture does not speak equally to us. Pick out those verses that mean the most to you. Put yourself in the Biblical story and ask God what God might be saying to you about yourself, your life, your priorities, your relationships, your time, your money management -- you.
Write out your prayers. Name what is going on in your life. Sometimes simply by naming and articulating what we are thinking, feeling or experiencing - such as "I'm thinking about changing careers" or "I feel lonely" or "I feel hopeless about..." or "I am overwhelmed" can help us gain focus and reclaim a portion of the power our life experiences have drained from us. Writing it down , composing a short prayer and giving it to God can be an empowering ritual. Many people find keeping a prayer journal to be a helpful discipline.
Recall how God has helped you in the past. God told Israel over and over to "Remember how the Lord God brought you out of bondage in Egypt." It is as we remember the past saving acts of God that we gain greater trust in God's power and love. And so Jesus says "Eat the bread in memory of me." When we are caught up in our stress, pain or suffering, it is easy to forget how God has helped us in the past. The trials of life can cause us to lose perspective and weaken our sense of trust in God's caring presence. But as we remember how God has helped us in the past we can be filled with hope for today and tomorrow. "O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come."
Develop a Prayer Rolodex. Put together a rolodex with names of them. Use either 7 or 30 cards. On each card put together a short list of people and then take one card each day and pray for the people on the list. A short list allows you to go deeper into prayer for each person and yet keeps several people in your prayers every day. If you use seven cards, you have one for each day of the week. If you use 30, you have one for each day of the month.
Are these 7 ways the only ways to pray? Of course not! They are simply some tools you can use to jump start or beef up your prayer life. Pick a couple of them to implement in your life starting this week. How you pray isn't important. What is important is that each of us prays every day.
